Ramgarhia Polytechnic, Phagwara

Ramgarhia Polytechnic at Phagwara is a prestigious and pioneer institution in the field of Technical Education in Punjab. It was established in 1950 as Vishavkarma Polytechnic and later on named as Ramgarhia Polytechnic Phagwara. 

The Polytechnic is a privately managed, Punjab Government Aided (95%) polytechnic managed by the Board of Management and is governed by the Punjab Govt. Rules. It is directly under the control of Directorate of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab. 

Courses

Various Diploma level courses approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training are offered by the polytechnic. In addition to this the polytechnic has a Community Development Cell aided by the Government of India which provides training to the rural youth in the various technological fields and helps them in setting up their own enterprises.

Location

The Institution is located on the Phagwara Nakodar road just at a distance of one and a half km from the Phagwara Bus stand on the National Highway No. 1 (GT Road) and is equidistant from the Phagwara Railway station on the main line.

Workshops and Library

The Polytechnic has a magnificent building, well equipped workshops and laboratories for imparting practical training to the students. Spacious class rooms, drawing halls and a library storing more than 10,000 books. The institute has a big hall with side gallery having a large seating capacity for organising functions.

Stadium

The institution has play grounds and is very near to the stadium known as Akal Stadium for arranging games and sports. The stadium has a pavillion and steps to accommodate large number of viewers.
