Government Polytechnic for women, Jalandhar

Govt. Polytechnic for Women Jalandhar was setup in 1970 under the ages of Department of Industries and Industrial Training Punjab. However in January 1986, the operational control of this Polytechnic was shifted to the of Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training (Technical Education Wing) Punjab. All the courses are affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education Punjab and are approved by A.I.C.T.E and the board provides all course's testimonials to pass out candidates. The courses run here are most suited to feminine dexterity and have great job potential.

Objective
The primary objective of this Institution is to offer instruction in Technical Education to the girls at a level comparable to the very best in the country. Technical Education has come to acquire a lot of importance for the girls so as to enable them to play a constructive role in modern society and meet the growing needs of industry.
 

Location
The Institute is situated at Jalandhar City in Punjab. Jalandhar City is famous for world famous Sports Goods industry, Leather goods etc. The Location of the Polytechnic is very ideal. It is in the midst of the town in close proximity to General Bus Stand and Railway Station. Till 1990, it was the only single Polytechnic for Women in Punjab. It is connected by road with the State Capital Chandigarh (160km) and the National Capital Delhi (375 km). It is also connected to Delhi (India) through rail. The college is situated nearly 1km from Jalandhar Bus Stand and 2km from Railway Station.
