Government Polytechnic, Ferozepur

Government Polytechnic Institute Ferozepur imparts Technical Education in the Border Area of Punjab. The Institute was established in the year 1990 under the Border Area Educational Development Plan of the Central Govt. The Institute is located on Dulchi Ke Road, Ferozepur City about 5 kilometers from bus stand & railway station. Campus area of me Institution is spread over 22 Acres .    Keeping in view the changing scenario in Industry, 3 year Diploma in Electronics Microprocessors was introduced in the year 1994. This is the only Institute in Panjab where this course is being run. For this purpose a new building block consisting of class- rooms and well equipped labs. was constructed.

Workshops and Library The Institution has well equipped Laboratories, Workshops & two modem well equipped Computers Labs., with Internet connection. The Institution has a spacious Library stocking 6172 books Industrial Institute Interaction Cell Institution also has an Industrial Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) and Placement cell. The students are sent for Industrial Training in the various Industrial units during tile course of their study. The Placement cell looks after the employment/ placement of the passing out students by giving guidance to the students and through interaction with industry. Community Polytechnic Wing The Institution has also Community Polytechnic Wing in the Institute run under the Govt. Of India Scheme for rural Development. Community Polytechnic Wing is running 6 extension centers in the villages in addition to different non-conventional courses being run in the "Main Center" in Institution. It trains about 600 trainees per year on an average in different trades as per requirements of the region. Other Activities The academic and other activities of the Institute are conducted by the well qualified staff under the dynamic leadership of Principal. Hostels The Institution also has a Guest House. The Institution has separate 2 Boys Hostels with capacity for 180 boys and 2 Girls Hostels with capacity for 120 Girls. The Institution has residential colony in the campus consisting of 80 houses of different categories.
