Government Polytechnic College, Bathinda was established in the year 1985 to impart quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology with an aim to cater to the students of the Punjab. This college is Located on Bibiwala road. GPC Bathinda has been established on a lush green campus of 22 acres. It has meticulous planned buildings and well landscaped grounds. The college has well equipped laboratories and workshops to impart practical training in different disciplines.   The focus of the college in addition to imparting technical education to the students in  various trades is the following:- To make available technical manpower to the industry as per their requirements. To train students for self-employment and entrepreneurship. It has a lion’s share in the merit positions of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training.   Extra Curricular Achievements Extra Curricular activities are given special emphasis in the college for overall personality development of the students. The students are encouraged to actively participate in various sports, athletic events and other competitions. The college has vast playground with a 400 meter track, Indoor Sports hall, Basketball, Volleyball, Football and an Auditorium for conducting cultural activities.   Training & Placement Cell The Training and Placement cell of the college maintains an active liaison with various industries to know about their requirements and explore the employment scenario for the students. The cell lays stress on self employment. The Cell also organizes various short term courses in association with NITTTR Chandigarh and other agencies.
